The collection consists of the letter book of Eugene LeHardy, chief engineer for the Selma, Rome and Dalton Railroad Company from April, 1868 - October, 1871. The letters are mainly addressed to the railroad's officers including E.G. Barney, George M. Chapman, J.H. Delano, and D.S. Printup and discuss the building of the railroad and other rail and civic business in northwest Georgia and Alabama.
